Oneof the coolest new aspects of the new Drumazon is the fact that each sound is now fully synthesized. This means they can each be tweaked extensively using various parameters, which was not previously possible.

D16 is not the only brand to have developed a 909 drum machine plugin recently. In 2022, Roland launched five reimagined digital versions of its TR series drum machines, including the TR-808 and TR-909.

For 909 Day in 2022, Extralife Instruments launched a completely free online emulation of the drum machine named the ER-99. Not only can you make drum patterns online using this, you can also export them as a waveform file.

The sounds of the 909 have entered the lexicon of house, techno and even hip hop; they are part of the language of how those genres sound. Even in the 2020s there are countless recordings released each year that make use of samples from this classic machine.

Now they are back with Drumazon 2, retaining the epic sound of the original but taking those advanced sonic features even further while also updating the interface to bring it up to 2023 standards. If you want the opportunity to win a free copy of Drumazon 2 then read on!

Those original 909 sounds do need a certain amount of processing in order to really bring them to life, and Drumazon 2 lets you do most, or even all of that, right there in the plugin. The first effects chain features distortion, EQ, chorus, delay and reverb. The second features EQ, two compressors, a bitcrusher and filter. The effects can all be re-ordered and switched on and off.

Each drum now has its own channel strip that allows you to change its pitch and envelope as well as giving you access to optional EQ and compressor inserts. From here you can also change panning and bus send levels. In addition to all of this there is also a master channel that features a built-in multiband compressor and limiter.

This all means that you should be able to produce incredible sounding beats in Drumazon 2 without needing any additional processing; the plugin could therefore be a real winner in live performance situations as well as being a formidable piece of studio equipment.

I'm trying to find a way to use DMD with a multi out plugin like D16's Nephaton and Drumazon (or NI Battery). Has anyone found a way to link the DMD channels to multi-out instruments if you load the plug-in into one of the channels? I've JFGI it and not come up with many results, so hoping you folks might have a thread on it or know how it's done.

what David said ^^^^ is really true. Just put a separate instance of Nephaton or Battery on each cell. It will be a lot easier to configure and change and work with. That being said, its definitely possible, I figured out how and shared directions as well as a project template here:

DMD is really easy to setup and configure for one instrument plugin per cell...so if you don't mind having duplicate instances of Battery or whatever...one for each cell...than that will be easier. That being said, if you want to see one consolidated drum kit inside the actual plugin...including any plugin-mixer, etc.. global parameters that effect all drum sounds from the plugin, etc...then using the instructions at the above link should get you there.

Drumazon 2 by D16 Group is an updated version of its 909 drum machine emulation plugin.

Drumazon 2 synthesis emulates all the sounds of the original 9O9 and all the instruments are synthesized in exactly the same way as the original with all the nuance details of the original perfectly captured. In addition, all Drumazon 2 instruments have enhanced controls with extra functionality to allow the user to adjust the sounds further than on the original unit.

d16 Group has today launched a limited 70% OFF 909-day sale on his beloved Drumazon plugin for PC & Mac. Drumazon emulates all sounds of the iconic Roland TR-909 drum machine plus expanded with additional controls, which open up new tweaking possibilities.

Very handy, most of the parameters can be automated and controlled in your DAW via MIDI. The developers put a lot of effort into the code to get all the nuances and detail of the original, vintage drum machine.

96 patterns (8 banks with 12 patterns each)Drumazon is also equipped with an internal step sequencer that stores up to 96 patterns (8 banks with 12 patterns each). Patterns can be triggered over MIDI. New in the plugin version is inspiring to randomize function that can be applied to the whole pattern, specific instruments, or even specific steps.

Broadly speaking, drum machine plugins fall into two categories. Some are designed specifically to emulate the classic hardware beatboxes of the past - perhaps adding a few new features to aid tone-shaping and flexibility - while others offer an original take on the concept and are capable of producing sounds of the type that won't be so familiar.

We asked MusicRadar users to nominate and then vote for their favourite beat making software in 2015, leaving us with the list of the best plugin drum machines in the world today that you're about to dive into.

If you just want a drum synth, check out AudioSpillage's rather tasty DrumSpillage 2, but if sampling options and an 8-track rhythm sequencer are also on your must-have list, Elecktroid is the product you should be checking out.

There are four synthesis algorithms to work with: bass, snare and wood drums and a hi-hat. In the sequencer, track lengths can be adjusted independently and you can assign a probability value to any step in a sequence.

Drumaxx is a physically-modelled drum machine that enables you to adjust the properties of the drum head, mallet and striking action. This means that you have plenty of control over the sound.

Tattoo offers up 12 synthesized drum sounds, and all the usual suspects are included. Each has a variety of appropriate editing parameters, and these are very well set up. They really reward experimentation and you don't often find yourself hankering for more control than is on offer.

Sequencing is handled by a programming grid with up to 32 steps - you simply click on the blocks to pencil in where you'd like each drum hit to fall. There are also some nice features for adding variation and randomness.

Groove Machine offers eight drum/sample channels (each with four sample layers), five hybrid synths (each with multimode filters, three oscillators, two LFOs and two envelopes), 10 effects per channel, stutter and reverse, eight 8-bar patterns, per-step automation, full MIDI control, multiple outputs, plugin or standalone operation and a piano roll step and automation editor. Phew!

If you make progressive-sounding genres, there are plenty of cool sounds and grooves to get you going. Take a quick listen to any of the excellent presets by Toby Emerson and you will hear how nice Groove Machine can sound.

Some people will love Groove Machine; some people will dismiss it as a toy; and most will have a couple of hours of old-school groovebox fun and then never touch it again. Try the demo and find out which camp you fall into.

Tremor is a virtual analogue drum machine built on DCAM circuit-modelling, complete with polyrhythmic pattern sequencer, FXpansion's TransMod modulation system, a bucketload of percussion-orientated effects, and nary a sample in sight.

The two things that really set Tremor apart are the sound and the brilliant polyrhythmic sequencer. While it always comes across as authentically 'analogue', there's also a crisp, modern edge to the noises it makes that we've honestly never heard before in a non-sample-based drum machine.

While the sounds aren't quite identical to those of Roland's classic, they're certainly close enough to make Drumazon a worthy substitute. In fact, given the choice, we'd take Drumazon over a hardware 909 every time.

Each sequencer track has three Generator Lanes, each of which can operate in one of two modes: dual-oscillator Synth or Sampler (WAV and AIFF). Thus, you can stack a combination of any three of these to create each of the six sounds.

The idea behind Punch is simple and familiar: take some synthesizers optimised for percussion, throw in sample playback capabilities and some well crafted envelope and modulation options, add effects and a sequencer, and garnish with a multiple-output version.

It's clear that a huge amount of time has gone into making sure the drums - whether synthesised or sample-based - sound crisp, punchy and lush. They all slice through the mix beautifully and have bags of presence and space.

This eight-channel drum machine from the creator of Reason's Malstrm synth has been chugging along for quite a few years now, and it still has a great reputation among enthusiasts and pros alike.

Classic Drum Machine Emulation: Drumazon 2 faithfully emulates the iconic Roland TR-909 drum machine, known for its timeless, punchy, and iconic drum sounds. Now, you can bring that legendary character to your tracks.

Intuitive Interface: Seamlessly navigate through Drumazon 2's user-friendly interface, allowing you to tweak and fine-tune each drum element with precision. Whether you're a seasoned producer or just starting out, you'll find it easy to create your desired beats.

Endless Creativity: Dive into an extensive range of sound-shaping options. Customize drum sounds, rhythms, and patterns to suit your unique style. Experiment with various parameters to craft the perfect drum groove for your music.
