Hostel Committee Meeting next Thursday at 6.30PM at SC office

Dear all,
Thanks for the reminder for resuming the Hostel Committee meeting. I agree, Past few months there was no meeting as such, but the active guys in the committee could meet and discuss whenever there was a need and appropriate action was taken. But yes, it would be good to meet again with almost all the members. Let's meet next Thursday 6.30PM to 7.30PM at SC office. If the timing is not suitable to you please suggest some other alternative.
Looking forward to meet with all of you and discuss the hostel issues and find out solutions to them. Please bring your friends in the committee too.
It will be better if you e-mail the problems in advance to the group so that we can have some thoughts on them beforehand can make the meeting more productive.

Problems in R-Block:

Problem: These days we are facing water shortage once in a week or 10 days regularly.
Though it is once in a while, it is a serious problem for all the 97 students residing in R-Block.

Solution: Long time back when there was water problem in the peak summer, I asked about the proposal of Borewell for our Block or near by it so that N-block, Kaveri Marriage quarters and Faculty quarters near to it can use it.

After that, I saw CCMD tried several places around the C-mess for bore well water. but not near to R-block.
One (Few) of them might have got water. We need one connection from any of such so that when ever there is water problem from Regular supply, at least we will run to other hostels.

Requiremts-1: We need some plants from Institute nursery.

As you know, We have enough open place inside R-block with  in the compound which is meant for garden (I think so). We need some plants from Institute nursery to improve this garden.

Requirement-2: Light bulbs in the garden area, Common halls where we hang our cloths for drying, corridors.

There were two bulbs inside of the R-Blocks which are supposed to be used whenever some body wants to wash cloths. Apart from these two, there were 6 to 8 around R-block, nothing works out of them. It seems, Since 1984, They were not replaced with new ones. Is there any possibility of getting new bulbs with proper wiring.
And also the light bulbs for common halls, corridors where there were holders but no bulbs (or not working).

I am not sure that I will able to join you people or not coz I have meeting with Prof.

Mrigasira Hostel ( M block ) problem I am listing down here:

 

1 . Water problem is still the major problem in M block

 

2.  There are no tube lights in some of bathrooms, drainage blockage problems in bathroom, flush not working..................

( room no. LM 111 to 120 wing ) .... for which we have complaint so many times in past 3 months, even hostel maintenance people came , had look and went but nothing happened.

  we have given so many written complaints for this but nothing has happened.

3. There is no light in TV room ( no use result of complaints since like June)

 

Please have a look at these issues.
