Undecided yet whether you want to make use of MagicINFO as a cloud solution or if you want to have it locally running on one of your own servers? Here is a list of things that might clarify your thoughts on making a decision.

With the MagicINFO cloud solution, you do not have to deal with the IT hassle. There is no need to set up and maintain a server, this will all be done for you. With the cloud solution, you basically rent a piece of the server. The price includes the connection, server maintenance, and support. Thanks to the cloud we will be able to solve issues you have really quickly, we will be able to take a look at your content or device on demand. This is why our support is really fast when the cloud gets chosen. The pricing for the cloud is per device per year.

When using the local MagicINFO installation you have to install MagicInfo Services on a (virtual) server that you have to set up and maintain yourself. The software is for free and we will provide you with lifetime licenses that will fully be yours forever. These licenses will only have to be bought once. If you install MagicINFO locally, you will get the first 25 Lite connections for free. For the licenses, the pricing is per connection. Feel free to check the server requirements right here.

With the local installation, you can control security more precisely, determine the network load, and much more. You can also decide to have MagicINFO running offline, in case your server is not able to connect to the internet. Support on local installations can only be done via programs such as TeamViewer.

From stand-alone devices to video walls, from outdoor displays to LEDs, more and more devices are now supported by MagicINFO. The 9th MagicINFO version offers full support for the new S10 and the I-Player. MagicINFO v9 also offers the ability to display your content in 4K, so you can be sure that the picture quality of your signage content is now even more brilliant. The remote management function has also been made even more user-friendly in v9. Diagnosing and fixing problems or errors remotely is now even easier with MagicINFO. Users can view and manage multiple units simultaneously. The revised multi-screen control is available for this purpose. In addition, screen monitoring makes it possible to check in real time whether each screen is connected by device type and what the status of the device is. Additional security settings are also part of version 9. Among other things, it is now possible to deactivate remote control for all displays should this not be desired.

With MagicINFO v9, the new maintenance licence(BW-MIM70PA) is required as soon as you use a Unified 2 licence(BW-MIP70PA) on your MagicINFO v9 server. The Unified 2 licence is valid for life from the date of purchase, while the Maintenance licence must be renewed every 12 months. In addition to new upgrades to future MagicINFO v "X" versions, a valid Maintenance licence also provides you with extended support from Samsung. You can contact Samsung support directly via the Maintenance Portal.

Basically, as soon as you use a Samsung MagicINFO Unified 2 licence on your v8 server, you will also need the new maintenance licence from now on. Please note that a maintenance licence is required for all existing Unified 2 licences and extensions. So if you use a Unified 2 licence and three extensions (i.e. a total of 4 displays with MagicInfo Premium) on your v8 server, a total of four maintenance licences are required. No maintenance licence is required for MagicINFO Lite licences, nor for remote management licences. The maintenance licence is therefore only required for each Unified 2 licence on the server. As soon as your Unified 2 licences have each been extended with a maintenance licence, you can upgrade to the new v9 server.

If you meet the upgrade requirements as described above, you can request a free download link for the latest MagicINFO v9 server from us. Please be sure to perform a database backup before upgrading to v9. Experienced users can upgrade from MagicINFO v8 to v9 at any time. For older versions, we strongly recommend that you use our upgrade service, as the licences would have to be migrated first.

Regardless of whether you upgrade your MagicINFO Server v8 yourself or prefer to have us do it for you, it is important to know whether you meet the requirements for an upgrade to v9. As part of our free consultation, we will check your server and its maintenance status and then tell you whether and how many maintenance licences you need. You do not enter into any obligations with the free consultation. For us, it is primarily important that you and your MagicINFO server are also on the safe side in the future. We are one of the largest Samsung digital signage and MagicINFO sales partners and see ourselves as having a responsibility here. Of course, we will be pleased if you are convinced by our service and if our offer for the purchase of maintenance licences or the upgrade service appeals to you. Take the opportunity and make an appointment directly with us at . Our MagicINFO experts look forward to meeting you.
