dns-sd woes

Hiya.

I'm using sflow heavily, and I'm getting worried about the number of servers I'll need to visit if ever I change the IP address of my sflow collector. I've tried using dns-sd, but I can't get hsflow to pick up collector configuration from dns. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I can see (using wireshark) successful dns queries going out and answers coming back. ( sflow agent v 1.23.5 running on server 2012 r2, 64bit ), but nothing actually happens.

I'm guessing it's how I'm configuring DNS. I've attached dig output from another server. Any thoughts?

Happy to be instructed as to how I ought to have asked, or to provide better info...

Mart,

Can you try stopping the hsflowd service then running it from the command line with the -vv option.

Have you set up a DNSSD_Domain setting for hsflowd http://sflow.net/host-sflow-win-config.php ?
