• Which U.S. mobile phone carrier provides iPhone service?

  AT&T is the exclusive carrier for iPhone in the U.S. This means that iPhone is configured to work only with wireless service provided by AT&T.

• Can I buy an iPhone without an AT&T contract?

  No. iPhone requires a two-year AT&T wireless service contract.

• Does my iPhone come ready to use?

  Yes. Your new iPhone arrives ready to start using it. All you have to do is set it up in iTunes. There’s no need to call or visit a store to get started.

• Can I get a new iPhone if I already have a contract with AT&T?

  Yes. When you click on Check your eligibility, we’ll review your account to determine your iPhone eligibility and pricing. Some plans may not qualify.

• I’m already an AT&T customer. What information do I need to provide to buy an iPhone online?

  AT&T requests the following information to determine eligibility for new iPhone service. This type of check will be performed wherever you buy your iPhone — whether it’s from the Apple Online Store, an Apple Retail Store, AT&T, or other retailer.

  • Billing zip code
  • Last four digits of Social Security number

• If I’m approved, do I have to buy my iPhone now?

• Does the iPhone support tethering?

• Can I transfer my current phone number?

  Yes. Your current phone number is transferred to your new iPhone after you receive your iPhone and set it up in iTunes. Then you can start making calls using your current phone number.

• Can I use my current rate plan with an iPhone?

  Yes, if you currently use iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS, you can keep your current rate plan. But if you have an earlier-generation iPhone or other phone, you may be able to keep your current voice plan, but you are also required to have an iPhone data and messaging plan. • Can I keep my current AT&T unlimited data plan?

  Yes. If you currently have an unlimited data plan for your current iPhone or other AT&T smartphone, you will be able to keep it when you purchase your new iPhone.

  The following billing information will be used to perform a credit check with AT&T:
