Skillman Horse Camp and nearby horse trails on Burlington Ridge, Highway 20, Tahoe National Forest

Dear Equestrian Colleagues:

      Attached is a brief one-page report on the new trail map (published March 2018) by Tahoe National Forest for the Burlington Ridge trail system which is centered on the Skillman Horse Camp.

      Burlington Ridge is located along Highway 20, within Tahoe National Forest, about halfway between Highway 49 (Grass Valley and Nevada City),  and Interstate 80.  It is about a dozen miles south of the town of Washington, a historic mining town on the South Yuba River.

      Skillman Horse Camp is maintained by the Gold Country Trails Council, and is used each Spring for the 3-day Wild West AERC endurance rides (50 miles each day).
