Dear Colleagues:

Attached is a 3 page report on equestrian riding within Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.

In the Summer of 2017, a new rental concession was established by the San Francisco City Department of Recreation and Parks.  Parents and grandparents can now bring their kids to the Bercut Equestrian Field in the western section of Golden Gate Park for guided rides with experienced and calm horses.  Many city kids have never actually seen a horse in person, much less ridden one.  This is a favorable first-time ride in safe conditions, led by experienced wranglers.

There is no horse-trailer assembly area (as of 2017) for riders with their own horses.  On the last page, several locations are shown on maps where horse-trailers can be parked.    There is no overnight horse-camping.

Respectfully submitted,  Bob Sydnor, AERC Trail Master
