Halls Valley Equestrian Campground within Joseph Grant County Park, east of San Jose, California

              This is a report on the Halls Valley Equestrian Campground within Joseph Grant County Park.  This is part of the Santa Clara County park system, and is located in the hills east of San Jose and near Mount Hamilton.  Photos and trail maps are included.   There are 58 miles of trails within this splendid park.

            The equestrian campground is excellent in the cooler autumn weather, most of the winter, and especially in the springtime.  It can be hot in the summertime, depending on the weekly weather situation.

           A newer and larger horse campground several hundred yards away  is currently in the planning stages, and photographs of this are included for future reference.
