Dear Equestrian Colleagues:

Attached is a 4-page report on the XP Corral which is located along the historic Pony Express Trail.   This is a preliminary in-progress report because the XP Corral is undergoing restoration and maintenance by volunteer crews in 2017 through 2018 and beyond.    It is expected that a editorially-updated report will replace this one by 2018, so stay tuned for a new version.

The XP Corral is located along the Wright's Lake Road, only about 1/3-mile from Highway 50, within Eldorado National Forest.

The last page is a geologic map that is meant to be used within the NEPA environmental report.

There is no water that is directly available in the campsite, so bring your own horse water.  There is a seasonally flowing small creek about 100 yards west of the XP Corral, so equestrians can use a bucket to bail-out horse water.

Respectfully submitted, Bob Sydnor, AERC Trail Master
