Dear Equestrian Colleagues:

          This 9-page report is about how to use a battery-powered percussion drill for complicated drilling on horse trails.  Usually, convention trail tools are used (Pulaski axes, McLeod hoes, shovels, and prybars).

              However, occasionally for some remote locations (far from the trailhead) it is useful to use a battery-powered rock drill that uses carbide percussion drill bits, followed by splitting shims.
