How do you know there are wild horses in the area? Also, is there a movement pattern to attract them/ not scare them away?

You don't know until you see them. There's no way to tell where they are. They cannot be scared away and there's no move to attract them.

They spawn in any random areas except for the main isles. I'd recommend gathering items from isles so you could make some money while looking for a wild horse or do quests/minigames. Whenever I looked for one, it's usually boring and no fun. But good luck looking for them!

There is also a lot of wild horses on triangle mountain, near ares's access point, i saw about 3 of them the last time i was there, but im not sure if you can catch them or not, i will let you know if i can
