Hi,

I've used Horos for many years with no issues, but recently an error has occured where I am unable to export any studies from the database to our PACS archive - This was first noted with annotated images but on investigation appears to apply to all studies. Nothing has changed with the archive setup, I am running MacOS Catalina and Horos 4.0.0 RC2 (The same issue also occurred in Horos 3.3.5, so moved to 4.0.0 to see if that would resolve it)

When exporting the following error message occurs in Horos:

DICOM StoreSCU operation failed.
DICOM Network Failure (STORE-SCU)
SCU Failed 0006:0203 DIMSE Badly formed message

There appears to be no interaction with the archive server whatsoever, it certainly isn't recognising any connection from Horos during the export attempts.
I have tried a few different variations to try and figure out the issue:
  • Exporting annotated images as SR files direct to the archive.
  • Exporting annotated images locally as SC files, re-importing to Horos and then sending to the archive.
  • Re-exporting the study, with no annotations or changes, directly after retrieving from the archive.
All result in the same error, so I'm unsure as to what is causing it. I also cannot find any references for a similar error anywhere.

I have tested the same workflow in OsiriX with no issues, so I'm wondering if Horos is altering the files in some way on import or export?
Images are compressed with JPEG2000 lossless compression on import into the database, at the first level of compression, and images are sent to the archive using Explicit Little Endian Transfer syntax, but I cannot see how these would cause the issue as Osirix is configured in the same manner.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, most things I can work around on my own but this one has me at a total loss!

Many Thanks.

Solved it: in my case there was a mismatch between the AETitle of the listener and the sender due to a typo (!!!). Hope this helps
