Hello Horos Support Team,

I am currently using Horos for medical image viewing and would like to know how to change patient names to uppercase within the program. I have a large database of patient images and need to ensure that all patient names are consistently formatted in uppercase for consistency and clarity.

Could you please advise me on how to accomplish this within Horos? Are there any built-in features or settings that allow for this change, or would I need to use an external tool to make these edits?

Thank you in advance for your help and guidance.

Best regards, julio

I am pretty sure you can do that within Horos.  There is a Meta-Data Button in the top menu bar.  If you click on that and then also click on Edit in the pop up Window, you should be able to edit tags, but you also will likely need to enable DICOM editing in your preferences first if you have not already done so.  Note that you can also choose Instance (Image), Series, Study and Patient levels for how you wish to apply the change.  Probably Study or Patient in your case.

After you make the change and enter, the DICOM Tag field should turn RED, at which point you should apply the change (Top Button).

Note that there is a preferences option under Database:  Display patient's names and descriptions with Capitalized words.  I am pretty sure that is for how to display them in the Horos List, not what the tag is in DICOM.

If you have a large number of studies to edit you might want to use some sort of script or other tool to process them.  If it is just a few, HOROS Meta-Data editing might be sufficient.
