Does Horos work on macOS, version 10.13.6?

Supposedly need 10.8 at least to run Horos.  I am having trouble because it runs slooooooow and I constantly get the spinning beachball.

I am running Horos on a 2016 MacBook Pro, OS X 10.12.6 without any problems.
