I have a MacBook Air 2020 8GB RAM chip M1 and have downloaded Horos 3.3.6 version in macOS Monteray.
I am experiencing some problems reading 3D curved MPR images for high dynamic ranges voxels values. The program doesn't work after clipping or resampling images.
What can I do?

Have you tried downloading Horos 4.0.0RC5 which has a number of fixes to handle running on later version of macOS? I believe if you register at the following link, the email will provide a link to download both 3.3.6 and 4.0.0RC5.

downloaded Horos 4.0.0RC5 and the 3D volume rendering worked perfectly on MacOS Monteray. Thank you Todd Jensen!

What's the difference between 4.0 ORC5 and apple,
and has anyone successfully used Horos yet on Ventura?

Thanks.

I had a paid support session with Purview regarding two issues. One was that Horos 3.3.6 was not working with Ventura.
The support group was aware of the problem and had me download and install the 4.0.0RC5 version which worked well with Ventura.

The second problem we addressed was that most of my database had disappeared. Fortunately I had time machine backups on an external hard drive.
I was able with some effort able to entirely rebuild the database.

Purview advised running Horos using an external HD for the database which is what I am successfully doing.
I can post the instructions they gave me if anyone is interested.

Instructions from Amanda Reynolds @ Purview

You can follow these steps to backup horos:

  1. Quit Horos if it is running.
  2. Copy the "Horos Data" folder under your /Users/<login>/Documents directory to the external HD.
  3. Rename the original Horos Data folder to something like "Horos Data Backup".
  4. Restart Horos.
  5. In Preferences->Database, change the location from Default to Custom and select the copied folder on your external HD.
  6. Quit and restart Horos.
  7. Horos should now be using the database on your external drive.

I am using a 2 terabyte solid state Sandkisk external HD. So far so good. Copying the database to the external HD took quite a while.

Best,

Thank you SO MUCH for this intelligence and instruction, drv, which will be of great use to many.
One question though:
By "Preferences->Database" do you mean during the installation you are asked your preference for finding DB storage location?
Because I don't see anything like "Preferences" in Horos' menu.

Thanks again!

In Horos click on HOROS top left title bar.
Go to Settings>click on database>click custom>click select>

I named my external drive Horos Data so in the gray side bar I clicked on Horos Data in locations>click on Horos Data>database.noindex>open

Under Horos menu on a Mac running Monterey select Preferences which should open a window displaying four groups of Preferences [Basics, Display, Sharing, and Plugins]
Under Basics click on Database
Now you have the option to choose Default or Custom
