Endless Dungeon is an upcoming sci-fi roguelite adventure game centered around escaping an abandoned space station. The twin-stick shooter is the latest in the Endless series from Amplitude Studios - which alongside previous entries like Endless Space and Dungeon of the Endless has released the well-received Humankind in recent years - and will be published by SEGA. Screen Rant attended a special hands-on preview that offered players their first taste of the game's multiplayer mode.

The general premise of Endless Dungeon revolves around the player being marooned on an ancient space station built by a past civilization called the Endless. Like many roguelites, the gameplay loop consists of venturing into one of the title's dungeons, traveling through defeating enemies and collecting loot, and either emerging victorious or dying along the journey. Regardless of their fate, every run brings players back to the ship's saloon where they can spend their findings before heading out again.

Although a previous hands-on preview of Endless Dungeon gave a strong idea of the game's overall mechanics, this fresh look has shown just how important multiplayer is to the title. The build features several new characters from the last time Screen Rant got a look at the game, with a list of three expanding to eight that players can choose from. All fighters bring their own unique strengths to the table that flourish in a group dynamic, with each possessing certain weapon fortes, a Special Skill, and an Ultimate Skill.

There's a clear emphasis on teamwork in Endless Dungeon, making things both safer and more efficient. That's not to say the Endless series' hallmark difficulty isn't there, however - it most certainly is, but it takes on new context in multiplayer than can help embolden players to try new things and make riskier moves on a run that they may not if by themselves. For example, in order to conduct the research necessary to unlock new turrets, machines must be powered on that trigger a brutal wave of enemies which solo dungeon crawlers might balk at, but with two others guarding the doors it feels much less daunting.

While players can still have a worthwhile experience in single player, it's clear that Endless Dungeon has been designed with cooperative play in mind. This 3D, spiritual successor to Dungeon of the Endless has kept the original's tower defense mechanics but expanded upon them in interesting new ways that become clearer when embarking on a run together. Players will be able to see everything the space station has to offer when Endless Dungeon releases later this year.

I have a bug here where in multiplayer games the units and action on screen for client computers is vastly different from what the host sees. It's a big problem because only the host sees the real game, and what the other players see is fake. These two pictures below were taken at the same place, at the same time, in the same game. First one is the host and second is a client.

I encountered a significant issue in multiplayer games, causing a major discrepancy between what the host and the clients see on their screens. It's a troublesome problem as the host sees the actual game while the other players experience a distorted version. It's pretty frustrating. I'm facing this bug where units on the client's screen are displaced, take an unusual amount of time to die, teleport sporadically, and even go from total health to dead instantly. It's game-breaking, and it happens consistently across different games. Any help or suggestions, especially from experts in the field like "cookery assignment help," would be greatly appreciated. I can even provide video evidence if needed to highlight the severity of the issue.

This still seems to be an issue. I see you guys say your aware and working on it will there be any progress or have you abandoned the game??? If its abandoned in a broken multiplayer state you should remove the multiplayer tag from steam or quit selling it.

Finally making its way into the game will be a multiplayer mode with support for up to 8 players. Solar winds, nebulas and trading ships will appear with improved AI, battle systems and tech tree changes being among some of the features and improvements ushered in with the update.

Seemingly taking inspiration from the Harmony faction of the series' first foraye into space, the Riftborn will debut in the battle against the Endless after their reveal trailer painted a picture of avenging their pristine world that was corrupted by the stretching strain.

You'll play as one of eight civilizations in both single and multiplayer as you must survive through increasingly harsh climates, striving to discover the secret behind the increasingly long winters on your planet, Auriga.

8. Having one player host a multiplayer game without any other human players in the game, then saving the game, and then loading the saved game and having the other players join and take over previously AI-controlled slots. (This is the only way to play online when using the Crusade DLC; so we figured we'd give it a try even though we weren't using Crusade at the time. Later we did also try enabling Crusade and it still didn't work).

So, I did what you said and we launched a multiplayer game successfully by disabling all custom content and starting a match [with Crusade enabled]. We then saved that game and restored the session by loading it just to make sure it worked, and it did. So it seems we can play GC3 in its most updated form with all DLC, but with absolutely no custom content. Thank you for helping us be able to play the game again.

The game, from the makers of Endless Space, is currently in Early Access, and recently introduced new races, a full multiplayer mode, ships, harbors, roads and trade routes as well as improved diplomacy in which players must spend a resource in order to interact and treat with other players. This cuts down on time-wasting and illogical relationships between players, according to the company.

This one is only available on Game Pass for PC for now (and under the Game Preview label), but Everspace 2 is already a stunning, fast-paced spaceship shooter full of exciting loot, RPG elements, and open exploration.

Liezen, Austria, November 15th 2007; JoWooD Productions takes the player once again into the endless space. Spaceforce Captains meets the taste of the fans in their most wanted tactical genre turn-based-strategy.

The basic elements of the game involve developing a space station (space building structures t hat produce resources, captains or ships) and conquering the space with a captain leading a large fleet.

Online multiplayer was definitely a big challenge. Up to this point, we had only done couch co-op games, and we really wanted players to have an online experience with From Space. How we overcame this problem? Basically, by spending a lot of time on it!

8. Heroes. Make sure they're not idle. This gives them experience and each of them has some useful skills. Specialization is a good idea - example: assign only those skills that work inside a system (for governors) and improve the industry, or only those skills that impact fleets and improve space combat. The more they work the more XP they get. Their ships can be improved for a payment in Dust, which is expensive, but also allows to boost the ships instantly. Make sure you're making new agents - those are valuable assets.

9. Keep track of the races that inhabit your systems. There are many races that can provide additional income if some specific circumstances are met, such as if the planet is fertile or anomalies occur there. Some races require other races to function, such as the Craviers, who use other as their slaves - they become better workers, but a planet is slowly being depleted and the happiness plummets. You might sometimes want to move certain races to other systems, where they will be more productive. You have to raise the System Development parameter to be able to use the space port for transportation of passengers.

So I like the mood and the procedural generation, and the windows and endless walking all had a wonderful feel to it. But I have a big problem- there's no carpets! I used to get shipped all over the place through airports as a kid and I have so many memories of chilling out on various airport carpets. I guess it depends on the airport and also the area of the airport, but yeah if there was like some weird little rest area that was carpeted and popped up every few miles of walking that'd be perfect. Still, really good job!

The game genre is "endless" space racing where players are eliminated by asteroids. The last player in the game wins. The game can be played in both single player and multiplayer. Up to 4 players can compete at once. More instructions on the game page.

"Starhawk is not your traditional shooter; it alters the gameplay recipe in such a way that creates a brand new experience for players and one that is only possible on PlayStation 3," said Guy Longworth, Senior Vice President, PlayStation Brand Marketing, SCEA. "Combining a run-and-gun style with our innovative Build & Battle system, along with a compelling story mode and robust online multiplayer campaign, Starhawk will truly move the genre forward and is sure to excite shooter fans and newcomers alike."

Starhawk boasts a strong online multiplayer mode via PlayStationNetwork where users can battle head-to-head in epic 32-player matches, up to four-player online and offline co-operative play, and split-screen gameplay within multi-player and co-op modes, always against an endless attack of enemies. The development team has made every effort to give players the realistic feel of actually being on the battlegrounds with vibrant characters and environments, coupled with dynamic lighting effects.

Starhawk also includes a compelling single-player campaign with various missions set in a number of diverse interstellar environments. The Starhawk universe is set in the distant future, out in the far reaches of space where factions battle over a rare and dangerous resource known as Rift Energy. In this galaxy, colonies of humans, called Rifters, explore a scattering of planets, known as the Frontier, in attempt to mine this energy to make an honest living, but find their way of life threatened by the Outcast, a ruthless species of humans who have mutated into psychotic monsters due to exposure to this very same Rift Energy. Caught in the middle is Emmett Graves, a hired gunslinger ostracized from society because of his own exposure to Rift Energy, leaving him partially mutated, but still able to retain his humanity. Starhawk allows you to take on the powerful role of Graves who is drawn back to his home settlement of White Sands on the Planet Dust to face a mysterious outlaw and a war band of Outcast warriors only to discover that this job may mean more to him than he could have ever imagined. He will soon find out that his family is involved in the clash between the Outcast and the Rifters and therefore must decide between those close to him and those he swore to protect.
