Happy New Year to You

We hope you had a wonderful holiday season. The beers and atmosphere at the Hopvine were festive and we still have some amazing winter beers on tap. The Sierra Celebration is finally gone but it was a good run this year. We have some fun events scheduled and we hope you will able to stop by for some of it.  Don't forget the Garlic soup is back for the winter. Most Mondays we have a cask on the bar. The cask tradition is a long one here at the 'vine. They are the freshest of beer experiences and because the beer is undergoing some continued fermentation it is always a mystery as to what you will get. Sometimes the wonderous casks are amazing other times just fantastic.

It was a little tough putting away the ornaments, dismantling the wreath, and shaking the last leaves off the poinsettias, uncommonly known as Euphorbia pulcherrima. You hate to dump them so they reside near the garbage can until they just look awful. Now of course they are never dumped but carted off to be composted. We will be sure our first fine in the new garbage regime is not for that leafless plant a few months ago we loved.

The Swells are playing again this month. They are the house jazz band and every month on the second Sunday you can enjoy a mix of old timey jazz, original jazz, and blues. Deschutes is in the house on the 15th with a interesting lineup of craft beer. The pioneer brewery in Bend is over 25 years old and still making impressive beer. No they are not the Bend brewery that was recently bought by Bud. Finally, our friends atNaked City will bring their craft beer show to the Hopvine on the 29th. It is hard to find a better craft beer and fellow brewers would agree. We will showcase Mr Webb's talents with several beers on tap. As always:
