August at the Hopvine

What a summer it has become. August is the best month around here. It is hot but not sweaty and the rain stays away until September. It is also beer weather and the brewers are brewing all those wonderful summertime ales including wits and kettle sours and hop-forward IPA's that quench your palate. We had a wonderful Mango Saison from Seapine and some amazing Gose from Sierra Nevada and Anderson Valley. But this month we are lucky enough to have pFriem Brewing in the house on Friday August 12th at 7pm. We will be hosting several of their beers, you will meet the brewer rep who can talk about the beers and have a chance to win some some things from the brewery. The beers are tasting exceptional right now. This hot month is perfect for a pFriem Pilsner and Berlinerweisse. Stop by this weekend to experience some of the best beer in world from Hood River.

As well said by Josh pFriem:  Our goals for the brewery are modiest ones--to build a business that was tightly integrated with our family lives, to honor the place we call home and love so dearly, and to create a warm, friendly space where others could experience our creations.Pfriem artisanal beers are symphonies of flavor and balance, influenced by the great brewers of Belgium, but unmistakably true to our homegrown roots in the Pacific Northwest. Although they are served humbly, each glass is overflowing with pride and a relentless aspiration to brew the best beer in the world. We’ll let you decide.

Also this month at the Hopvine we have two great music shows as part of our Songwriter showcase. On Saturday the 13th is Boots To The Moon at 8pm and on Saturday the 27th is the Lonely Mountain Lovers with our favs Zach and Maraiugh at 8pm.

In the house on August 25th at 7pm  is Standard Brewing. Our friend and onetime employee Justin has become one of the best new local brewers. His beers are sophisticated yet approachable and have earned him a stellar reputation in the brew world. Stop by to meet Justin and chat about beer and try some of his amazing beers on tap.

We continue to feature cask on Monday nights and they have been fabulous. We have pork chops and cask on Monday August 22nd at 7pm.  Finally a fun Cider Night with 2 Towns Cider on Thursday August 18th at 7pm. Try some amazing cider and enjoy a night at the Hopvine.
