Elaine asked: I have been suffering for nearly 10 years with blisters/sores in my nose. They become quite sore, break open and ooze, and then they crust up and are difficult to heal. It didn't used to be often, but in the last several years it is quite common for me. It turns out, after a bit of research, that it is an infection of some kind. It could possibly be impetigo or even a form of herpes. I actually think it may have come about due to use of an allergy nose spray years ago (a type of rhinocort). I never had this until I stopped using it. So, the last time the sores started (the nose actually swells and feels sore before the blister actually surfaces), I got desperate, and in reading about EOs decided to try the tea tree oil I have. I did a direct swap of it in my nostrils with just a drop or so. It seemed to help lessen the time of the blisters, and they were not quite as extreme. Now they are occurring again, so I started swabbing again this morning. Is there something that might work better than Tea Tree oil?

Lana wrote: I have suffered with the same thing and I believe it was a steroid nasal spray that triggered it, too. Warrior was my answer. I use it undiluted. I put it in the nostrils, and I put it in some organic olive oil. I am thinking MRSA is a virus? Here is from the website--'Warrior is highly anti-microbial, anti-viral, anti-septic, anti-infectious, anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory'. That should just about cover it all!
Elaine wrote: How interesting Lana!! Allison, that makes sense, since MRSA-X is used for staph infections and it is believed these could be a form of staph infection....I may just get both. I will read a little more on both these. thank you ladies!!
Linda wrote: If you use Warrior in the nostrils, be SURE to dilute the Warrior and try just a smidgen before embarking on the entire nostril!!
Lana, you are a brave soul to use Warrior in your nostrils undiluted! Elaine, if you like it diluted, then perhaps you will want to use less dilution and brave doing what Lana did.
I'm an avid oil user, but I cannot imagine putting Warrior in my nostrils ;-/.
The Tea Tree may work fine, but even after the sores disappear, I'd continue to use it consistently for a time in hopes to getting to the 'root' of the matter.
We swab nostrils with Myrtle undiluted on a Q-tip, and I feel that will help with the sores. It doesn't burn or sting (even small children are fine with it). You may want to follow whatever you decide to do with a salve so your nostrils don't dry out with the consistent use of the essential oil. We follow Myrtle with Golden Salve. I feel that with consistent use, even after the sores have healed, you may be able to eradicate them. If you stop too soon, they are likely to come back. I pray you find relief.
