RESPIRATORY/CONGESTION/COUGH Issues for DOGS

The following is from the Holistic Aromatherapy for Animals by Kristen Leigh Bell, page 156:
1/2 oz (15 mL) carrier oil (Bell prefers Hazelnut or Sweet Almond)
5 drops Myrrh
5 drops Ravensara
This blend can be used in several ways.
1) Massage several drops into the fur of the dog's neck and chest, or place on a bandana or cotton collar.
2) Add to bedding.
3) Bring the dog into the bathroom and put 6-10 drops of the blend onto the tile in the shower (don't do this in a plastic shower stall) and run hot water. The steam and vaporized oils may help break up congestions.
4) Diffuse the essential oil blend (minus the carrier). Cycle the diffuser on for about 5 minutes and do this several times a day. Monitor the dog and leave a way to escape.
