Hi Lindsay,

I sent the following to "Julie" 2 months ago. I emailed Julie to see how they were doing, and her response follows.

I have not dealt with this at all, so I looked through all my resources, and then I Googled it. Read all the comments, thought it may take some time: Labial Adhesion Issues: Alternatives

One comment said Emu oil helped.

Of all that we have here, I'd use our Tender Tissue (which has Emu oil in it):

Tender Tissue has Emu and some essential oils to help the area heal. Mostly moms use it before/after birth and for vaginal infection or lubrication.

I personally would not use Vasoline - it's a petroleum product or the Estrogen.

Reading this one made me wonder if it's really a hormonal issue, the perhaps oils that help balance hormones might be helpful:

So, hum . . . . Woman Ease? Vitality? 

My first try would be Tender Tissue. If you feel to get Woman Ease or Vitality, you'd need to dilute a lot and try your dilution on yourself to be sure it's enough to be comfortable for her.

From Julie: I was not able to fix it. Right now we are just waiting it out until she is older. Apparently it should resolve on it's own by around 6 or so. I spoke with a midwife about it who said there was really is no cause for concern, provided there is some kind of opening for urine to come out, but that we will need to take care to keep the area clean to avoid any kind of UTI. I tried Calendula, Tender Tissue and even tried some of my dried placenta crushed into coconut oil. (I had a baby in January and had my placenta encapsulated and had some left). Nothing helped at all, and  things we tried really just emotionally irritated my 2 year old.

I know this isn't quite the same, but my dog had an abscess on the inner part of a labia. I treated it with Sandalwood wood oil diluted with Jojoba oil. I treated it for about four days straight and then I didn't look at it for a few more. When I did look it was completely GONE! I'd read where Sandalwood could be used on herpes so I figured it must have something in it to heal tender areas. I am so happy; she was previously treated with an antibiotic and my vet was going to biopsy it, and now she's all better. Voila... another success with essential oils.
