Pink Eye Remedies

Conjunctivitis is a very contagious ailment.
Treat immediately so that it does not worsen.
It can spread quickly in a family with little ones.
Wash the infected eye carefully, one at a time, using a clean cloth for each eye.

These are remedies offered by moms:

Optique Eyedrops by Boiron. This is what our family and friends have used. You may be able to find these at a local health food store - Linda
Lavender - Dilute with 1 tsp coconut oil (or a fatty oil you feel appropriate for an eye) and use to wash around the eye. Avoid getting the oil mixture into the eye, but if you do, add more carrier oil to rinse (not water).
Colloidal silver
Chamomile Tea bag - Cool, moistened with distilled or filtered water (but slightly squeezed out) for about 10 minutes on each eye.
Mother's milk
Potato juice - A friend of mine once recommended something when my kids had pink eye, and to be honest, I thought she was insane. Potato juice!! Grate a clean potato, peel and all, and wrap the grated slivers in a paper towel, making a sort of poultice. Press the bundle over the eye, squeezing the juice into the eye while doing so. It WORKED!!! - Tracy
