Hello,
Right now I'm just dealing with the rash on my face. I don't have any other symptoms of lupus. But my face itches so badly and I would love to know what would help it. Or maybe you have a moisturizer that would work well. Help please!

Hi Lori,

I posted the information I have in my files about Lupus below. Since the rash is on your face and itchy, this information may not be all that helpful. For an itchy rash on the face, I would personally use aloe vera or one of the carriers mentioned with a small percentage of oils noted to help with an itchy rash (avoid the eyes).

Essential Oils Traditionally Used for Itchy Rashes
German Chamomile - cooling, anti-inflammatory
Roman Chamomile - cooling, anti-inflammatory, regenerative
Lavender - cooling, anti-inflammatory, anti-histamine
Myrrh - anti-inflammatory, healing for the skin (contraindicated during pregnancy)
Patchouli - relieves itching, anti-inflammatory
Peppermint - cooling, anti-inflammatory (not suitable for abdomen during pregnancy)
Sandalwood - cooling, healing for the skin
Yarrow - anti-inflammatory, healing for the skin

Anti-inflammatory Carriers
Almond
Aloe Vera
Apricot
Argan
Carrot Seed
Emu Evening
Primrose
Hemp
Jojoba
Olive
St. John’s Wort
Tamanu

Oils/Blends noted for Lupus:

Five Steps To Recover From Lupus: The Myers Way

Lupus testimonies:

1. My husband's bout with Lupus risked him losing his job/occupation. We felt to try PALO SANTO. He applied it to his mustache every night before going to bed, and his symptoms slowly became less and less. On his next visit to the MD, the lupus test came back "false/positive"! Needless to say, both my husband and the doctor are astounded. The MD told him to keep up whatever he was doing.

2. I use TEA TREE oil diluted with Almond oil on my Lupus rash, and they heal up very nicely.

3. I made a blend of TEA TREE, LEMON and LEMONGRASS with Sweet Almond oil to put soothe and heal lupus skin eruptions. It reduces redness and pain.

4. I have been diagnosed with SLE Lupus. I had my gland in my groin swell. I rubbed LAVENDER oil on all my glands. I urinated about 6 times, and my gland that was swollen went away. I put TEA TREE on my feet and use PEPPERMINT, CINNAMON and CLOVE. I dilute the last 2 with coconut oil. Eliminating sugar from my diet really helped. I threw away the MS pills from the doctor that told me I have only one year to live. I'm feeling better everyday! - Kelly

5. In addiction to using essential oils, another natural way to treat the pain and inflammation of Lupus is black cherry concentrate or tart cherry concentrate. Different brands call it either one, but my cousin has lupus and that has helped her. You can get it in a liquid form that you can add to water, tea etc, or it also comes in a pill. - Diane
