My 7 year old daughter has had issues with chronic tonsillitis over the last six months. We have used essential oils ( variations of extra virgin coconut oil, plague defense, warrior, lavender, and tea tree) as an oral spray and diluted on her neck and feet to successfully treat the last infection, but it continues to reoccur. She has no fever and doesn't even slow down when she has these bouts, but will sometimes have a slightly runny nose or complain of tummy ache which alerts me to the problem. Many times this will happen during the same time another member of the family is fighting a cold or viral infection. I have her on a probiotic and am working to strengthen her immune system. I know we will have to visit an ENT soon, and I do not want her to have to have her tonsils removed. Any advice on what to try to curb this? Thanks so much!!

It sounds like you are doing the right things. We avoid sugars, as we feel sugars feed infection and wear down the immune system. Wheat, gluten and sugar are things we avoid. We also like to keep bone broth soup going in a crock pot so we can sip on this often, which we feel also helps boost immune response.

I would start giving her Vitamin C everyday even when not sick. You can
get it very cheap in powdered form (ascorbic acid). And then increase
the amount and doses per day whenever she comes down with the
tonsillitis. Here is an article to read:

Has she been tested to see if she's a strep carrier?

I would do what you've been doing and add in swabbing or spraying iodine and colloidal silver onto her tonsils alternatively.

Thank you all so much for the advice. It appears that she is having tonsil stones, which I didn't know much about until I did some more research. The oils garbled continue to help her, and I am so thankful to have found Heritage Essentials to help my family naturally. We need to continue working on cutting back sugars as well and will try the Vitamin C. I love colloidal silver and need to get some to alternate. Thanks again.
