Julie asked: How often can you apply Pain-X topically? I diluted it 25% coconut oil to 75% Pain-X and am applying it with a roller ball to my bone-spur-inflicted shoulder. Any concerns with using it too much? I'm throwing everything I can at it because surgery is the next step. Thanks!

Linda wrote: I have used Pain-X undiluted for years out of the same 10ml roll-on applicator, so it may not fail, but I have come to feel that if you'll add a little carrier oil, it may help the essential oil to penetrate more quickly and less EO will evaporate. So now I'm "extending" the EO with about 25% carrier oil. (I use the word "extending" instead of "diluting" because it is a better description of what I feel I am doing.) I use a carrier oil that in known to penetrate quickly such as coconut or Jojoba oil. Frequent application should be fine for most people. If you ever experience any irritation, then back off and dilute. That will mean your "skin receptors" are overloaded (my terminology). I have rarely heard of reactions to topical use of the oils, but I have read where some are anecdotally linking it to a sulfur deficiency or acidity.

How often can you apply? The oils are metabolized and eliminated in 1-2 hours, so frequent application is fine if the need calls for it.
Dilution? I like your dilution rate of 25: coconut oil to 75% Pain-X.
Concerns? If you have any skin irriation, back off and/or dilute more (see prior comment above).

I messed up my rotator cuff (both arms at the same time) about three years ago, and formulated Pain Repair at that time (with the DMSO that Nikki Garrett mentioned). None of my other blends did much for it, but Pain Repair turned it around in a day. PainX is a great blend - one of my favorites - but it you go looking for another one, my choice would be Pain Repair.
