Carol asked: What is a natural way to get rid of wax in your ears?

Answers offered:
1. Hydrogen peroxide. Fill a dropper and lie down with ear up. Drop in the ear and wait for 1 to 2 minutes. It is normal to tickle and bubble. Place a washcloth over your ear and turn your head over so the wax will ooze out into the washcloth. Repeat for the other ear.

2. Baking soda seems to work faster than hydrogen peroxide or Debrox, and it breaks up the wax rather than merely softening it like mineral oil or Cerumenex. Do not try this if the person has had a perforated eardrum or is prone to ear infections.
A) Dissolve 1/2 tsp baking soda in 2 ounces warm water and put it in a dropper bottle.
B) Put a few drops in the ear twice a day for up to 1 week.
C) Discard any solution left after a week.

3. I find that when I'm taking a lot of fermented cod liver oil, ear wax thins out and is easier to remove in a non-invasive way.

4.
A) Too much wax is a sign of a Vit A deficiency - that is fish liver oil Vit A - we don't get it in our diet usually and hence my strong recommendation of cod liver oil or eating liver a lot which most will NOT do. This improves the situation greatly.
B) Many things remove ear wax - Debrox, etc. It is important to get it out. Wax impedes language development in a child.
C) May indicate low D3 levels
D) I buy the tiny gel caps of fish liver oil Vit A - 20k iu/cap. and dose up occasionally if I see wax build up. Balance it with D3 according to your levels. You can also up the fermented CLO safely. Many use that stuff from the drug store - Debrox or something like that - oily to soften and safely remove. And then to prevent, get some fish liver oil A in your diet or eat lots of liver.
