Kelly asked: Will Peppermint oil keep roaches away? Here in Texas we have huge roaches. They call them "water bugs" lol. So gross.

Linda's answer: A strong-scented essential oil may work, but I worry about the EO degrading the finsh on floors and cabinets. We use Organic One, a certified organic pesticide with "no known hazard." It's mainly diatomaceous earth. It works very well, and I feel safe using it around pets and children. It's a powder that we sprinkle in the back of cabinets, drawers or whereever the need calls for it. The roach or ant crawls through it, and instead of poisoning it, it punctures their exoskeleton and they quickly dehydrate.
