Based on a "recipe" I found on Pinterest, I decided to try out some oils for my mild rosacea. Formerly, I had used azelaic acid gel which was effective but burned when first applied. I'd ceased to treat the rosacea at all because the price of the gel had risen and become prohibitively expensive. Anyway, I used the oil formula except that I added Rosewood essential oil for my middle-aged skin per the health info recommendation on the Heritage Essential Oils website under Rosacea. (Jojoba as the carrier oil.) In just a few days, my skin is markedly less red and much happier-- not irritated and flaky either. There's no burn and the smell of the oil mixture is mild and pleasant. I made up just a sample batch but now I'll proceed boldly.
