Susan asked: My 10-year-old daughter fell and might have a concussion. Are there any head injury oils??

Linda responded:
I'd apply oils to the brain stem a few times a day for a few days, and my first choices are listed first: Frankincense, Cypress, Helichrysum Blend, Bones & Joints, Lavender, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Roman Chamomile, Peppermint, Myrrh

The brain stem on the back on the head above the neck - in the hairline. I'd gently apply behind one ear to behind the other. Years ago when our daughter had a head injury that knocked her unconscious, we were told to keep her awake or to at least not let her sleep long. I'd wake her and:
- Check pupils for unusual dilation.
- Is breathing normal?
- Headache? It should get better, not worse.
- Ask her questions that you know she knows the answers to.
- When she gets up, is she dizzy?
- Vomiting is not a good sign.
- If symptoms worsen - consider seeking professional help or advice.
My prayers join with yours as you apply the oils and pray for her complete recovery.

The brain concussion has been on my mind since my mom has had different problems with a brain injury in the past and a stroke. Cayenne pepper is supposed to help. Also Rosemary essential oil is excellent for the brain. I like to diffuse that in the living room primarily for my mom and also my grandma, but all benefit I think.

One of the essential oil blends that I have seen the most benefit to my mom in regards to the brain is Potential. After her stroke in 2011 I found that after I put one drop on the top of her head she would speak clearer and understand things better. While a stroke is certainly not a concussion, it does effect the brain.

Hope this is helpful.

In Christ,
Crystal
