Juniper Berry Antiseptic Spray

Juniper Berry Antiseptic Room Spray

10 drops of Juniper essential oil (or another antiseptic essential oil)

Water to fill a 22 oz. spray bottle

Shake well before each spray. No refrigeration needed.

Recipe with Juniper berries instead of essential oil

2 TB Juniper berries

4 cups water

spray bottle (4 cup size)

Combine these in a NON-aluminum pan, and bring to a boil

Simmer 15-20 minutes. 

Let cool, then strain. 

Pour this mixture into a 4-cup spray bottle and add water to fill to the top if necessary.

No refrigeration needed, but make up a new recipe every 2 or 3 months to insure potency.

We've found that our smaller bottle (2 cups) will last us about 6 weeks. We keep it in the bathroom and everyone sprays after using the toilet. I would regularly spray the living room, dining room, kitchen (the main gathering rooms of our house) every 2 or 3 days once windows are kept closed and daily if anyone was ill. I sprayed bedrooms once each week, unless someone was ill, then I sprayed daily in that person's  bedroom. - Jennifer R.
