Joyce asked: I'm very new to the world of essential oils. I have a 4-year-old son who suffers from anxiety, and I suspect ADHD. The hyperactivity doesn't concern me so much, but his anxiety does. He is an emotional roller coaster bursting into tears at the drop of a hat. Panicking at the sight of someone "messing up" his perfect line of trains or cars, and so on. I've been doing research and wasn't surprised to find that actually a lot of his characteristics align with asbergers. regardless, I want to help him. I want to understand him better. His doctor thinks he's a perfectly normal 4 year old, but I know him better than anyone, and I sense something is "off." He is incredibly intelligent. His anxiety is evident when anything in his world feels out of control. If his younger brother so much as looks at his perfect line of hot wheels cars he completely loses it. "Flies off the handle" - not tantrum, but clear anxiety. Bursting into tears.

Any thoughts on specific oils I can use besides Lavender? This boy stresses if his world changes an inch. Breaks my heart to see. Suggestions welcome. Also application instructions of oils would be helpful. I just bought a diffuser so help me out :)

Essential oils may offer support as you work with the child. We've seen many helped with Christian Neurodevelopmental care:
Hope and a Future - Linda Kane
Little Giant Steps - Jan Bedell
March Forth Family - Julie Meekins

If you are looking for essential oils to help with some of the tips you'll get from the neurodevelopmental group, see what you think about applying Adagio topically as described, and possibly diffusing something like Peaceful

On the anxiety issue, I'd give him Paradise Herbs Bacopa immediately. Bacopa is my second favorite of all supplements. You may not "feel" a change come on, but if you remind yourself to notice, you'll see that the anxiety isn't there. Bacopa is majorly safe (unless you are one in a billion with some allergy. It has been used in India for millenia and is used on their infants in a tea. You can order it from iHerb. Buried Treasure, Added Attention is a good blend that has GABA, DMAE, Vit B and is wheat, gluten, yeast and dairy free. Try Bacopa first thing in the morning so you can watch and know what this single supplement does. Then, I'd add in the other. Do both separately so you can observe his response.
