I met a new Mom today, and we were talking about how you feel pressure
to put your child in the 'right' preschool. I use to teach preschool
for many years, so I know they can be wonderful places, but now I am a
stay at home, and though I do sign my daughter up for classes, and
organize playdates for her, and would like perhaps for her to attend
preschool part time, I am curious about this pressure I feel from
other mom's concerning preschool.

And thus were curious what other mom and Dad's thought.

I feel funny because I have not made any attempts as of yet to put my
daughter in preschool when she turn three. People seems to treat
preschool as necessary now. I think I am going to wait till she is
four, because I also plan on possibly on holding her back a year for
kindergarten (her birthday is right at the cutoff and she would be the
youngest always in her class if I did not) so three years of preschool
might get old. My daughter has playdates and friends and I use to be a
preschool teacher so I provide I think I can provide the right type of
activities.

But still I feel this pressure or guilt I am not visiting preschools
to find just the right one.
