I talk to hundreds of people on the phone about #LNBF types and how to properly align an FTA dish. The main problem that people have replacing an LNBF is matching the right type of LNBF frequency. The most widely used LNBF is the #Standard (L.O.Freq 10750) and the #Universal LNBF (L.O. Freq 9750-10600) When replacing the LNBF check for the L.O. Frequency to properly match and replace with a matching one. I have technicians call me telling me that they don't have signal and want to know if I can help them. I generally ask them what is the L.O. Freq on the old LNBF and what is the freq on the new one. Most of the time it gets replaced with a Universal (because they are much cheaper and they can make the most profit) so then the receiver displays NO Signal. Then they can ether replace it with the correct one or change the receivers LNBF settings. The biggest problem that I find is customers and techs that do not mark the settings on the old LNBF and they replace the new one incorrectly. One thing to keep in mind with #FTA is that you have focal point adjustment and skew adjustment to tune because of the V-H points and the dish focal point. If you want to share tell us your experiences.
