Dr. Kahler wants to share this important information with our HOPE Members, I think is really pleasant to know that there are many other organizations that are also working so Latinos students can have the opportunity to achieve higher education. Therefore, we should support and help with new ideas.
Please read this and let's make an effort to attend this conference, I understand we have things to do and some of us have school to attend, but if you have a chance to go and explore other ideas to accomplish our mission will be great.

The Hispanic population in Tennessee has been growing dramatically. Colleges, universities and community groups have been responding. They have worked to help Hispanics access higher education and find academic success. They have formed partnerships and started unique programs to best reach the Hispanic community. Avancemos Juntos is an opportunity to share successes and spark new ideas. The conference is free, including breakfast and lunch. It is hosted by Volunteer State Community College, as part of a Tennessee Board of Regents Access and Diversity grant program.

7:30am-9am: Breakfast and open roundtable of ideas. A chance for people to update others on what is happening on their campus and community in regards to Hispanic higher education issues.
9am-10am: Speaker
10:15am-11:15am: Speaker
11:30-12:45pm: Lunch and keynote speaker
1pm-2pm: Speakers
2pm-2:45pm: Roundtable of ideas and sharing of contacts
Lodging is available within two miles of the college. The Jameson Inn provides a special Vol State rate of $63 a night. Hampton Inn offers a general rate of $104 a night
