More unsolicited commentary. Note how the legs are held in the image of the "Wrong" Telemark position. Caulfeild was an arch critic of the Lilienfelder (Zdarsky) style of skiing. I never noticed this before having posted the instruction card image even though I was familiar with it before that. I was always a bit curious why he felt he had to illustrate that incorrect stance. Now I think I know. I've taken one of the images of Zdarsky, posted earlier, and the "Wrong" Telemark straight-running position, and cropped them so that the leg positions are most prominent. Look at the images. I think you'll see what I mean.

I think I can understand Zdarsky's leg position, since he relied on his staff for braking and balance. It would be a much better, weight-back position for using the staff in that case. Caulfeild doesn't illustrate his incorrect position with a staff. I suspect he didn't want to confuse the issue.
