Hello Everyone,

The snow season is kicking into high gear and we're hoping that you've been able to make some turns in the local backcountry terrain.  Between a few rain events and the freeze/thaw cycles, the snow has held surprisingly well at our zones and yesterday's storm will only help add some extra cushion in the base layer.

To keep ourselves ready to go, we're excited to announce a ski tuning workshop--available for current WMBA/CTA members who've always wanted to know how to edge and wax their own skis/board.

Come out to Dirt Church Brewing in Charlemont on Sunday Feb 8th and bring your skis and/or boards for an evening of ski tuning skills, ski films, pizza and beer.

PSIA Examiner, tele turner, and ski tuning wizard, Hal Westwood, will lead the workshop, providing you with first hand experience on how to tune your own damn skis!

Registration Required: Once registered, we'll send a list of recommended tools/items to bring if you've got 'em.

Cost: $20/pp

Where:  Dirt Church Brewing, Charlemont MA.

When: Sunday Feb 8th, 4pm

Registration required:  Max 10 participants; first registered, first served.  Don't wait!

To register:  Reply for confirmation to wmba.c...@gmail.com and bring $20 cash payable at the event.

Open only to WMBA/CTA members, so please confirm that your membership is active!

WMBA 2026 Multi-Day Updates:

Currently our Darkstar Hut trip (Camel's Hump) and Stable Inn (Brandon Gap) trips are full, but there is still availability on our Les Routes Blanches trip into the Laurentian backcountry of Quebec, as well as on our annual Zealand Falls Hut trip into the White Mountains (NH).

The Les Routes multi-day will take us along historic backcountry NORDIC ski trails between villages, with our group staying (and dining) Inn-to-Inn along the route.  Feb 25th to March 1st.

Our Annual Zealand Falls Hut is a special and spectacularly scenic multi-day ski adventure, perfect for anybody looking for some extended luxe time in the backcountry.  March 20th to 22nd.

For more info and to register, please follow the link: https://www.wmassbcalliance.org/events

And don't forget about our Friends & Film night at Bright Ideas Brewing (North Adams) THIS Saturday 24th featuring Jamie Kennard's, 'Queen of the Catskills', and Noah Dines', 'Still Excited to Ski'.  7pm with $10 suggested donation.

Got a Berkshire East uphill pass?  Come out early and climb with the Queen of the Catskills, herself, Julie McGuire.  2pm Saturday 24th---Group uphill meets at the base of Mohawk.  Uphill pass required. Pre-register here!
