Great skiing at Dutch Hill today 1/27! There is 23" of snow at the bottom, 33" at the top. 19F with a breeze at times. The new 15" or so of snow has a bit of a sleet and wind layer so it really needs a good pitch to get any speed. The Upper Dyke has hardly been skied but is a bit tricky because it isn't steep enough. Other steeper trails were pretty skied up except for [**redacted**] which had only two, day-old tracks on it at the top. It did pick up more tracks as I descended but it was glorious.
There are still plenty of buried rocks and stumps out there, I was only on the trails that get maintained and got tripped up three times. The ragged stumps in the logged areas are still above the snow line (except for the ones you can
't see that are buried).
I didn
't look at the Lift Line but there were a lot of tracks headed that way.
The logging has brought more wind to some of the trails and improved the views.
Looks like the cold is here for a while. If these trails continue to get this much traffic we
'll have moguls forming soon.

Great report, Sam.
I took two runs Monday afternoon and then had to go back up on Tuesday for more!
I figured that the early birds were gonna get all the goods on Monday, but after skiing at Berkshire East until about 1pm----and counting 18 vehicles in the Dutch Hill lot at 2pm--- I was shocked at how much terrain still had fresh snow.  So many fluffy, dreamy fresh lines on lower Yankee!
The skiing is great over there (and almost everywhere else too!).
Skied Stump Sprouts yesterday (Tues morning) before commuting back to Dutch Hill, and the snow there is amazing right now too.  Lloyd had groomed most (if not all) of the trails and was waiting for the snow to compact and settle a little before setting tracks.  New trail, 'Shakey Trees' skied pretty sweet, though a little slow with the deep snow..  Not too bad for some cushy, slow turns :)
