to hoosac range skiing
I'd like to see if there are others on this list who ski at Mt. Bryant
in West Cummington. If we want to keep skiing there it is going to
require a little work. I spoke with the ranger in charge and he is
fine with some work being done. (Of course I would check back with him
before actually doing any). The state cut it back a few years ago in
the name of wildlife habitat. I had in mind to come up with a work day
or afternoon sometime between Halloween and Thanksgiving. If there are
enough folks who can come we should be able to cut back the main open
slope so that there is a 10-20 ft. wide skiable path. We could also
check the T-bar line. (that has been pretty good the last two
winters). Another project might be to continue the trail all the way
to skier's right down farther so it connects. It is possible to ski
through there but it takes some major dodging. A little bit taken out
here and there would make for a quite enjoyable run.

Just a note to those who may not know this, Mt. Bryant is the old
Berkshire Snow Basin and is now state property. Check the NELSAP
website if you aren't familiar with it: http://www.nelsap.org/ma/berksnoba.html
