Haven't asked for a while, so I'll give it a bump: Does anyone ever give any thought to the CCC ski trail at Chester State Forest?  It is a respectable run, ok kind of short, but gets hit by the snowmobiles. Maybe if enough interest was shown, the authorities could try enforcing a "skiers only"policy with signage, arrests and long jail time without parole - or at least community service clearing in warm weather and sidestep packing when needed (OK hands off my fresh pow - well shoveling in snow from the adjacent forest could count for double jail time)

Oh well, when there's sufficient snow, skinners would probably rather be somewhere more dramatic.
Anyone interested in reviving Black Panther?

Some of the state forests have winter and summer use maps which designate which trails are open to snowmobiles. Unlikely to have much effect if they are already using it. I like old CCC ski trails. Thanks for the reminder about this one. Any trail that gets hit by snowmobiles is best left for soft snow conditions. Maybe after a good midweek snowfall this would be someplace for me to go.

My recollection is it does not get hit by motorized vehicles (the short ski trail itself that is). It isn’t terribly exciting skiing but the relative remoteness of the tour is a plus.

Remoteness is always a lure for me.

Wow, that’s quite a range of outcomes
