If you subscribe to the newsgroup then you'll have seen a recent posting about the movie in the subject line. If not, it's now been deleted. I acted too soon.
I was tipped off to the existence of the film through this
YouTube video.
That was about all there was about backcountry skiing in the Daks. The movie is more of a general treatment of skiing, Eastern and Western. There isn't a specific focus, neither regionally vs. nationally, nor in-bounds vs. out-of-bounds, neither contemporary vs. historical. It's a melange of all of those things.
For us here, who are into Eastern, e.y.t. skiing, the YouTube vid is most of what is offered in the full film but if you want to watch some shots of Tuckerman you can find the Adk section around minute 28 and continue watching a bit further.
It ends with skiing in the Canadian Rockies and a final reflection by the interviewees on what makes skiing so great. These folks are never i.d.ed by name in the film. You'll have to look at the credits to get their names and wonder if they are listed by order of appearance (never says, but not alphabetically anyway).
