Village Jam: an a cappella benefit concert for Haiti relief

On Saturday, February 20th at 8 pm, the Academical Village People host the 5th annual Village Jam, an a cappella benefit concert to raise money for Haiti Relief. This year the three finest men's a cappella groups at the University of Virginia -- AVP, the Hullabahoos, and the Virginia Gentlemen -- team up to bring you a night of pure musical entertainment using only their voices. All proceeds -- 100% -- will go directly to benefit the American Red Cross, aiding those affected by the massive earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12th. By purchasing a ticket, you will help to provide critical needs such as food, water, shelter, and first-aid supplies, helping the people who need it most.

This year's Village Jam will be located at The Paramount on the Downtown Mall. Tickets can be purchased all week on the lawn or on The Paramount's website here. Tickets on the lawn or at the box office will cost $6 for students or $10 for non-students. The Paramount adds an additional $2 processing fee for online ticket sales. The show starts at 8 pm, and the doors open at 7.

For those coming from dorms, we will also be providing regular transportation starting at 6:50. We're not sure how crowded the buses will be, however, so you may want to arrange your own transportation (the trolley also runs downtown every 15 minutes).
