I thought the memo was confusing, so I posted a question to the Transfer station’s FB page:

Can you clarify please? The memo said: "We encourage residents to recycle and hope that many of you will continue to recycle on a volunteer basis. All recycling that is brought to the Transfer Station, will be sent to the recycling facility." Reads like cardboard & alum cans make money, but the other stuff we bring there will still be recycled for the higher fee. ??

Response

CAN WE STILL RECYCLE? Yes. Aluminum and cardboard can be brought to the transfer station and put in bins at the transfer station. Clean single stream recycling can also be brought to the transfer station and WILL be recycled.

So why can't we continue to put those items in our recycling bin for pickup? I do not have time to go to the transfer center.

I was at the recycling center today,
There was a lot of regular recycled products being placed into their bins... people are obviously bringing their recyclable items to the center.
