Hi,

http://hookbox.org has been unresponsive for the past 2-3 days. Does
anybody know whether it will be coming back up?

I use hookbox in production on one website and I want to recommend
hookbox to some of my colleagues, but I've been holding off until the
website comes back online.

Thanks,
Ethan Jucovy

Ethan,

I cannot access hookbox.org for a coupe of weeks, as far I remember.
Does the project still alive?

Have a nice day,
   Nikolay.

Hey,

Huh, thanks for the reply.

My understanding was that Michael Carter has been busy, but some other developers were taking over maintenance of the hookbox project.  Hope that's still the case .. it's a great project.

No news afaik, last I heard Michael Carter has not replied to emails
on the matter. I am able to supply a host with fast internet
connection, webserver and what else is needed to get this thing
breathing again, if someone is willing to step up and take over the
project lead ! :)

My project team is working on rewriting the Hookbox server. We can offer up the services of helping with the development, bug fixes and the like. However, we are looking at re-engineering the entire thing from the ground up. While this is in progress, we will offer to help keep the current release working.

We have no ability to host the project site and provide access to the general public.

I have emailed Mcarter and have gotten no response. We can assume that he is no longer available. I am not sure if we can get to the resources that he had hosted up on his project site, so we may be a square one with all of that.

Any suggestions?

Hit me up on the IRC at #hookbox, I (and my Team) are there everyday.

Thanks,
Rob.

I can offer hosting services, if need be.  To be honest, I am migrating my projects to node.js, but I still think that hookbox is very valuable.

We started off with hookbox, but all the errors and lack of horizontal scaling, we decided to rewrite it for our needs using Socket.io and node.js, with some eventlet mixed in.

If you're going through the trouble of rewriting hookbox, you should most surely look at socket.io and node.js.
