Club Budget Surplus and Board Request for Spending Suggestions

Hi Hoofer Sailors:

If you read my notes of the last Board meeting, you will notice a
discussion about an unknown but significant budget surplus that must
be spent, possibly, by July 1, 2009. Club Treasurer Mike Stephenson
specifically asked Board members to forward to him spending
suggestions for things they are certain each fleet will purchase in
the following budget year that starts on July 1, 2009. Think of it as
spending now, so as to ensure greater budget flexibility after July 1,
2009.

I think it appropriate to share this with you, the Members, so as to
ensure you submit suggestions. For example, I have noticed that Soma
needs new jib sheets. Thus, i will submit that suggestion to Club
Treasurer Mike Stephenson by email. I hope you will do the same on
other items you think need to be replaced and will be in the coming
year anyway, especially those of you with greater knowledge than me.
I strongly encourage that safety items be submitted first.
