Subject: Come Celebrate the Coast Guard's Birthday!

As previous attendees of a Madison Navy League event, the Madison Navy League and Coast Guard Auxiliary invite you to a a special boating safety event on August 18th at Christy's Landing on Lake Waubesa to celebrate Coast Guard Month.

 

This event will begin with vessel courtesy examinations by the Coast Guard Auxiliary from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.  At 6 p.m. U.S. Coast Guard and local Coast Guard Auxiliary personnel will do a demonstration of a rescue operation using the HH-65C (Dolphin) helicopter on Lake Waubesa. At 7:00 p.m. Retired Coast Guard Senior Chief Tom Rau, syndicated boating safety columnist and author, shares his many experiences as a rescue responder and writer dealing with less-than-smart boating behavior.  His stories will provoke laughter and tears. Tom has been a featured presenter at Strictly Sail and other midwest-area boat shows.
