MADISON – Visitors will have free admission to all Wisconsin State
Parks, Forests and Trails during State Park Open House Day on Sunday,
June 7, a highlight of which will be a Centennial Celebration for
Peninsula State Park, one of Wisconsin’s oldest and most visited state
parks.

On State Park Open House Day, no admission stickers are required on
vehicles entering state parks, forests and recreation areas, and trail
passes are not required for bicyclists, in-line skaters, or horseback
riders using state trails that normally require a trail pass. Many
state parks have special State Park Open House events.

The event also coincides with Free Fishing Weekend, June 6-7, 2009, in
Wisconsin, so no fishing license is required to fish at the many lakes
and rivers located in state parks and forests.

unveiling of a new centennial commemorative painting, and a special
pictorial postmark will be available at a temporary Post Office
station. Eagle Bluff Lighthouse will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at
no charge. This event is free and open to the public.
