Hello there,

I know I've asked about Chinese addresses in the past. Please excuse
another question. I'm trying to figure out the best way to render the
address of 蘇州愛知科技有限公司(SUZHOU AICHI TECHNOLOGY
CO.,LTD)given as 江蘇省蘇州工業園区星龍街428号26C.

Any help greatly appreciated.

See the web site here:

The address is given in English as:

Building 26C, Suchun Workshop, No. 428 Xinglong Street, Suzhou Industrial
Park

I don't know exactly why they include "Suchun Workshop" in the English
address and I think you can safely add "Suzhou, Jiangsu [Province], China"
as necessary, but hopefully this will point you in the right direction.

Thanks Alan and David

You're going to have to point me some tips you use to search for these
things.

One way of doing this is to convert the Chinese into pinyin here:

http://www.frelax.com/sc/service/pinyin/

You can generally use the result of that to make a broader search.

For example, 江蘇省 is obviously the name of the province, 蘇州工業園区 looks
something like "Suzhou Industrial Park," so what you really want to
know is: 星龍街, which turns out to be xīng lóng jiē.

Googling ["SUZHOU AICHI TECHNOLOGY" xīng lóng jiē] doesn't produce
anything, so eliminate the 街, and Google ["SUZHOU AICHI TECHNOLOGY"
xīng lóng] which brings up:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=Xim&q=%22SUZHOU+AICHI+TECHNOLOGY%22+x%C4%ABng+l%C3%B3ng&btnG=Search

Ignore the hit for this very thread, and you have one hit:
http://www.wai8.com/com_235310.html

Using this method will generally get you at least a certain distance
toward your goal of finding the English-language address. Either way,
if you go through all that, and show you made the effort, the Chinese
speakers on this list will be more willing to help you out, since
you'll have done most of the legwork, and they will have a lot more to
go on.

Thanks Mark.

I was aware of the pinyin site and I did use it to put together a
translation I would have used had the site not been found (I had
everything right except I didn't know what to do with the 26C at the
end). I hadn't thought to try my translation back into google to see
if I got any hits.

Thank you for teaching me to fish. <g>
