I am having trouble identifying what should be an accounting item.
意志入れ
I have already considered the possibility that this is more commonly
written
意思入れ
But I still can't find any relevant information about it.

It appears in a list of fixed costs justifying a price change, along
with 材料高騰、加工費、管理費.

I have an idea it is related to the concept of goodwill in
accountancy, but would like other opinions.

Could it be a simple typo for

仕入れ

meaning procurement or purchase of stock/supplies?

Just a guess.

入力ミスではないと思います。

これを英語でなんと言うのかは、知りませんが、何かのヒントになれば。

I hadn't considered a henkan miss, and 仕入れ fits with the other items,
but it also overlaps with them, making Kanji's contribution more
likely. It seems that it may be a cousin of 営業費 which I have seen
covering costs incurred for visiting customers, etc.

I am leaning towards something like "engagement".

With all due respect, Saito-san's example is not related to the
accounting context in which Peter C's query arises.

Having done a fair share of accounting translation over the years, and
having spent more time than I care to remember on wild-goose-chases
over henkan typos, I tend to go with the "typo for 仕入れ" school of
thought on this one.

Thanks for the input Peter T. Kanji's idea maybe off, but I have seen
stuff like this used as justification for pricing, which is what I am
looking at now.

But your experience has convinced me that there is only one proper
course in cases like this: ATC.
