English - Japanese patent translation rates

Practicing patent law is still not paying as well as translation used to, but definitely better than translation would be paying me now that the industry has mostly collapsed. 

I do have a question for my colleagues on hunyaku though. One of my affiliates in Japan just gave me a quote for English- Japanese patent translation at 35 Yen per word. This seems excessively high. What is the current retail rate for skilled English - Japanese patent translation?
