Looking to spend a few days in TKO later this month. Haven't been in a while. Looking for a clean, modern and reasonably affordable hotel with good musen LAN capabilities near major station close to Shinjuku, Shibuya -- station on a major line in all events. Suggestions?

When I travel to Tokyo I always stay at the 西鉄イン新宿
<http://www.n-inn.jp/hotels/shinjuku/index.php>. Nice rooms,
reasonable price, comfortable bed. They don't have wireless internet
but they do have free wired internet.

For what it's worth,

Ray,

If I were looking, I would include the Tokyu Stay hotels in my search.

Nothing specific, but <http://hotel.yadojozu.ne.jp/index.htm> might
be a good place to start. If nothing else, you'll get a better sense
of what the going rates are these days.

FWIW.

You also looking for a meeting/reunion? Let us know. Some of us, though
very busy, are always looking for a chance to party. :-}

Would be good to have a local resident recommend (or even arrange) a venue. . .

Sorry, I'm nearly always in Tokyo but that weekend I'll be in Kiyosato
on a choir retreat, Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.

I recommend Ryokan Shigetsu in Asakusa. Close to Sensoji and subway
lines, and a wonderful ofuro on the top floor. Plus reasonable rates
for this kind of quality in Tokyo.

They're a good place to stay, but I'm not so sure about their
Internet capabilities.

The Tokyu Stays all have LAN hook-ups in the guest rooms, as well as
washer-dryers and kitchenettes in most rooms, and free breakfast in
some properties. Prices are reasonable, too, mostly ¥10,000 or less
for a single.

At first I thought you were asking about these guys:
http://tokiohotel.pop24.de/tokiohotel2/index2_uk.php

But seriously, I always stay close to Akasaka Mitsuke station
when I am in Tokyo. The location on Ginza and Marunouchi lines is
simply unbeatable when it comes to getting around in Tokyo. It's
very close to Shinbashi (or should that be "Shimbashi"!?), Toranomon,
Tokyo station etc. Shibuya is at the end of the Ginza line, of course.

Last time I stayed at the Akasaka Prince Hotel, also known as
アカプリ in Japanese, which has a great view of Mt. Fuji when the
wheather is clear. I've also stayed at the Excel Tokyu Akasaka
right across the street from Akasaka Mitsuke station and at the
Toshi Center Hotel (http://www.toshicenter.co.jp/), about 5 min away,
which has clean, affordable rooms and free internet access.

Book early.
